Greetings. I am from IGSE’s Marketing Department. English education is going through a rapid transition in all facets with new technologies being introduced every day in the era of the fourth Industrial Revolution. In particular, the use of AI and big data will soon play a pivotal role in English education. To engage with this crucial area, IGSE has introduced a new course, ‘English Education and Big Data’, starting from this semester.   I thought I knew how to work with computers but I only used basic skills such as checking emails and searching for articles. I really needed to upgrade my computer skills and ICT literacy to get a job again after graduating IGSE . That’s why I took ICT Literacy, which is taught by Professor Young-woo, Kim. I had heard about IT (Information Technology) before, but never heard about ICT (Information and Communication Technologies). In other words, I knew almost nothing about ICT. However, due to the Professor’s detailed guidelines, I’ve learned a lot in this class. 1. Class textbooks and supplements There isn’t a set textbook for this class. The professor uploads materials on the Moodle site each week. All you need to do is read them before the class and install a software program when needed.
